Phonetics failure: A pho faux pas!

After recently writing a post about pho (see here), I excitedly told my little sister Emily that she’d have to take me for the authentic version one of these days. When I said pho like “foe,” she looked at me incredulously and with all of the attitude a woman can muster (that’s a lot by the way), she told me, “It’s pronounced ‘fuh.'” Huh. Duh. That sure blows away Mr. T’s “pho-e oh-e o” song and my cheesy puns. Dang it.
