The NaNoWriMo report: Good news, bad news
Can’t say I’m sad to see you go, November. Photo credit. |
The bad news up front: I did not meet my NaNoWriMo goal of writing 50,000 words during the month of November. (Sad face!)
I could tell you about the 10 days I lost due to conference travel, head colds, holidays and the malaise of job hunting, but most of that’s pretty much par for the course in November, right?
Better to focus on the good news: I’ve drafted three data chapters of my dissertation. Messy, ugly and muddled chapters, but I have words. More than 35,000 of them! And what’s better, I’ve written some messy, ugly, muddled analysis ideas which means I think I know where I’m headed with this thing. (Someone cue the Hallelujah Chorus!)
Although I feel disappointed for not meeting my word count goal, all things considered, I’m feeling all right. The book is on track and I think I might spy light at the end of the dissertation tunnel. Hooray!
