A moment in travel

Coming or going, I couldn’t tell you. But I noticed this family standing opposite the small crowd awaiting an airport tram at Phoenix Sky Harbor today. Watching them watch the planes got me thinking. Although I certainly tire of the hustle and bustle of commercial flying, having done way way too much the last few years, I appreciate these small stolen moments of contemplation.

I just love to see people from all over the country and the world come together in the social experiment we call the airport. Certainly makes my job as an ethnographer more interesting!
